About GoBYTrain

GoBYTrain.net is an independent rail travel inspiration website focused on the UK, Ireland and Europe. Run by Michael Duffy in Ireland, GoBYTrain is for curious travellers who want the journey to be a memorable part of their holiday.

Our approach

We share suggested routes, practical planning guides and links to official railway information. Our articles are starting points for your own plans, not live timetables, personal travel reports or packaged holidays. We do not claim to have personally travelled every route.

A clear view

Our Alpine hero is AI-generated illustrative artwork. Other scenic and city photographs are sourced from Unsplash. Generic scenic photographs express the feeling of travel and do not document every featured route.
